Dream Beast Kiryu

This is a Kiryu, a fox-dragon thing I dreamed of the other night. They are the size of small children, are intelligent, and can heal with blue-green flames that they can generate with their wings.

In the dream I had, there were all these clay figurines of animals and weird creatures being brought to life, and when I was given a choice of what figure I wanted to bring to life, I saw this little fox-dragon (I did not name its kind Kiryu until waking), and chose it. When it came to life, I realized it could not speak yet, but could learn if I gave it some of my blood, but since I did not have anything to cut myself with, I had to use a leech.

Once it ate the leech with my blood inside, the fox-dragon looked up at me and told me I had a white mushroom inside me, and asked me if I wanted it out. This was rather disconcerting, because I didn't know I had a white mushroom inside me at all, so I told it yes, I wanted the mushroom gone. The fox-dragon then flapped its wings at me, and a wave of blue-green fire washed over me, but instead of burning me, made me feel better, and that's when I finally woke up.

It was definitely an unusual dream, and for some reason, the Kiryu made me think of a really close friend of mine. This pic is of that one in my dream, and is actually the third attempt, because fox faces are apparently hard as hell to draw, and then bodies decide they want to be once the face starts cooperating. I felt it needed to be holding something, so this one is holding a white mushroom. I wanted to draw some blue-green flames, too, but I don't have a marker of that color, and the experiments I did on a separate sheet of paper with my highlighters didn't turn out so well.
