Okay, so yeah, a lot of things have gone on in my life the past few years:

--My grandmother died back in 2016

--My mother's cancer came back in 2017

--My mother died of said cancer back in 2019

--My struggles with mental illness (currently diagnosed as Borderline Personality Disorder)

--Job issues stemming from retail being a fucking nightmare (Currently ongoing)

--Money issues stemming from not being paid enough, combined with searching for a new job. (Currently ongoing)

That's just listing the big players, but as you can see, I've been in a very dark place most of the time for quite a long time, which hasn't been conducive to artwork at all, aside from a couple of calligraphy things I've done. Well, I actually managed to draw something recently, for the first time in years, and of course it's a damn fanart! I'm hoping that maybe things have finally turned a corner for me, and I'll at least be able to do some more drawings in the future.

Apparently, 2017 is the year where everyone who CAN get a tropical storm or a hurricane will get at least part of one.  Seriously, it's like the sky just suddenly said, "You know what?  Fuck everyone that lives near the ocean this year!"  Sure, Nate is just supposed to be a Category 1 storm at landfall, but that can still tear stuff up pretty efficiently.  And even if it doesn't tear stuff up, that's still time I'll be missing from work, and that's not something I can really afford.  So while there are plenty of people around me who are all "Yay, a storm!"  I'm over here annoyed because of the money I'm losing out on.

To be completely honest, I'd be losing my mind right now with a major anxiety attack, if not for the fact that my doctor recently adjusted my crazy-meds.  I don't know if it's some PTSD bullshit left over from the giant dumpster fire that was Hurricane Katrina, but I damn near have a heart failure anytime any of these things look like they might head my way.

You know what makes things even weirder about this whole situation?  Storms on this part of the Coast are pretty damn rare in October.  Usually, if one happens to make it into the Gulf, it'll get picked up by the jet stream and dragged through Florida, or it'll get pushed away before it even makes it in.  Hell, the last one I can really remember that had any kind of effect was Opal way back in '95, and even that was more the outer fringes of it.

Anyway, hopefully the worst that happens is that I lose power for a while, with no flooding, or tornadoes, or injuries, or death.  As of the latest advisory, the bastard is moving at 22 miles per hour, which is pretty fast for a tropical system, so hopefully, that'll mean less time for it to do damage, and that it'll hurry the hell up and leave.

Once upon a time, way back when, I bought Pokemon White 2, and battled my way to the Elite Four.  After triumphing over them, I then moved along to the post-game stuff where you level up so that you can fight the Elite Four at a stronger setting, only to have all of my progress after reaching the Hall of Fame fucked up because of a stupid glitch in a triple battle with some random asshole on Twist Mountain. :rage: Now, many years later, I've finally decided to restart the game and try again, with the intention of completing the post-game and battling the Elite Four twice.  In the spirit of things, I've named my new character Erinys, after one of the names for the Furies of Greek mythology, and my buddy/rival is Petbe, for the Egyptian god of revenge.  I finished the Herdier Hunt at Floccesy Ranch, and am now about to go do my first gym battle.

Current Team:
Viper the Snivy (Level 12 Male)

Much like my last file, I'm only taking my starter for now, but once I have my first gym badge, I'll trade a bunch of low-level random pokemon for some Eggs I have waiting in Pokemon White.  What's in them, you ask?  Well, you'll just have to wait and see. =P

Well, I fought the Elite Four and became Alola's first Champion, and now I'm supposed to be getting ready to hunt the Ultra Beasts, but have been running various errands and collecting other Pokemon instead.  Still sporting a major crush on Guzma, though I suspect that he may have been abused as a child.  He's definitely strong, though, and taught me not to underestimate Bug-types, because he nearly kicked my ass in our final encounter.

Current Team
Locksley the Decidueye (Male, Level 70)
Sparkle the Raichu (Female, Level 70)
Wolfos the Lycanroc (Female, Level 69)
Ishtar the Salazzle (Female, Level 69)
Undin the Vaporeon (Male, Level 68)
Maeve the Ninetales (Female, Level 68)

I'm now wondering what my next team should be, though I do hope to eventually fill the whole Alolan Pokedex.  May go ahead and start training up both my Litten and my Popplio, and build a team around the two of them.  Knowing my luck with genders, I may end up with a bunch of Charlie's Angels situation, where my teams are predominantly female, and my Popplio, once it evolves, will be the girliest-looking one of the group.

Well, I'm still playing Pokemon Moon, and I've discovered a few things.  One is that I absolutely LOVE the music that plays in the Seafolk Village at night.  Another more disconcerting one is that I have a huge crush on freaking Guzma, of all people! :iconwthplz: Why?  I don't know, but it's really weird.  Also, Gladion's such a fucking edgelord that he's a bottle of eyeliner and an internet blog away from saying shit like "God will have to beg for my forgiveness".  Or in his case, Arceus, since this is the Pokemon universe and all. =P I'm almost done with the game now, though, and ready to go face the Elite Four for the first time.  I'm over-leveled as hell, though, so it'll probably be easy, if not a total cakewalk.

Current Team
Locksley the Decidueye (Level 66 Male)
Sparkle the Raichu (Level 66 Female)
Wolfos the Lycanroc (Level 65 Female)
Ishtar the Salazzle (Level 64 Female)
Undin the Vaporeon (Level 64 Male)
Maeve the Ninetales (Level 63 Female)

Also, little Nebby is all grown up, and I'm now the proud owner of a majestic space-bat named Mahina, after the Hawaiian moon goddess. :D
